Reading Comprehension Website

While browsing in the networking button on delicious, I came across a very informative Reading Comprehension website. I really like this website and I will have to make more time to explore it. This site has everything a teacher needs for teaching reading. The site addresses every grade level and groups links accordingly. There are links to help with integrating technology, strategies, lesson plans, books and authors. This is an invaluable tool that I plan to use very soon and often.

Kids Search Engine

This blog on Free Techonology for Teachers, reviews a search engine, Kidrex, that kids can safely use. I love this search engine and I will have my eight year old daughter, Shayla, use it when she needs to search the web. It is also great to use in the classroom because inapproriate sites will not come up in the searches. I tried to type in a somewhat inappropriate word, breasts. When I hit the search button, a page came up that said, "Oops! Try Again!" It is very kid friendly with a crayon-type design.

Science Fair Project In a Post

Steve Spangler's post is a great science resource for teachers and parents.   This post has links to ideas for science fair projects, common mistakes to avoid and secrets to successful projects.  You can also register to receive a science project of the week.
